WHITE WATER RAFTING FOR INDIGENOUS PEOPLES' EDUCATION

Cartwheel Foundation invites you to experience the renowned Cagayan de Oro River white water rapids and raft for indigenous peoples' education, together with The Red Rafts and Men's Health Magazine. Starting this June until October 2007, raft with The Red Rafts, Cagayan de Oro's premier outfitter, and part of the proceeds of your trip will benefit the educational programs of Cartwheel.

There are an estimated 12 million indigenous peoples (IPs) in the Philippines and they have little or no access to quality education. Cartwheel is committed to bridging the gap and ensuring that they enjoy their right to education that is best suited to their culture and education. You, too, can lend your support and have a blast while you're at it-- you migh just discover the ride of your life!

THE PACKAGE:

The special Cartwheel packages costs P1,300 per head. A minimum of 4 people per reservation is desired, but not required.

The package consists of:

  1. 12.9 km White Water Rafting Course
  2. Almost 4 hours of actual river run including side trips
  3. Hearty lunch
  4. Souvenir Token (crafted by the Mangyans of Mindoro)
  5. Souvenir Photo Print-Out
  6. Orientation on rafting and safety
  7. Orientation about the Project
  8. Information sharing about issues of indigenous peoples of the Philippines and environmental concerns by trained guides
  9. *Optional: CD of rafting trip photos/videos and teambuilding activities for company/large group outings (CD offered at a special price)

with other inclusions:

  1. Transportation to and from rafting site
  2. Safety gear
  3. River and rescue guides
  4. Fresh shower and changing rooms at disembarkation
